What Is Language?
According to Wilkinson and Morford (2024), chapter 1, language is a rule-governed, structured system shared by a community. Language includes phonology (sound systems), morphology (word structure), syntax (sentence structure), semantics (meaning), and pragmatics (context use).

Tunxis Tribe Lanagaue
Those of the Tuxis tribe spoke mainly the Eastern Algonquian languages whch consisted of at least 17 languages. And when these languages died, it wasn’t just vocabulary that was lost, it was also an entire grammatical system, a unique way of organizing sound and meaning. "Losing a language means losing a structured worldview".
